I provide counselling at my Private Practice in Croydon (East Croydon) for Children & Young People/Teenagers.
I first began working with young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) and those with special needs in 2004 at Ashburton Community School and as a volunteer for Croydon Young People’s Project. I have since worked therapeutically as a counsellor with children and young people at Place2Be and at several schools in the Croydon area.
I have worked therapeutically both short term and long term with children & young people affected by ADHD, Asperger’s, Autism, Dyslexia. and BESD. Presenting issues I have worked with include, deep depression, anxiety, extreme stress, anger, dissociation, self-harm, rape, and low self-esteem.
I worked as a counsellor at Shirley High School for four years, building a comprehensive counselling service single-handedly. In my final year as Lead Counsellor, I managed and provided clinical supervision to one other counsellor and two trainees. I have very high retention rates and am skilled at engaging children and young people, both male and female in the counselling process.
Schools & Colleges
I am able to facilitate short term contracts of 6 to 8 weeks to work with specific pupils in schools or colleges and at times I may be able to offer longer term counselling solutions for pupils with special needs or complex issues.
Please feel free to call me 020 8656 7832 or email me if you would like to explore how set up a counselling service in your school that runs in line with current best practice.
