Counselling for Children and Teenagers in Croydon
Young people often need space to express what’s going on inside — especially when they don’t have the words or confidence to say it directly. I offer a warm, safe, and down-to-earth space where children and adolescents can explore feelings, build resilience, and find healthier ways to cope.
Whether your child is anxious, withdrawn, angry, or overwhelmed, therapy can help them make sense of what they’re experiencing in a way that feels manageable.
Common Reasons for Seeking Counselling
I work with children and teens facing challenges such as:
- Anxiety and low self-esteem
- School stress, academic pressure, or transitions
- Emotional overwhelm and sensory sensitivity
- Friendship difficulties or social isolation
- Grief, loss, or changes at home
- Neurodivergent identity (e.g. Autism)
- Emotional shutdowns, meltdowns, or masking
How I Work
Every child is different, and I adapt sessions to suit their personality, needs, and interests. Sessions might include:
- Talking things through
- Drawing or creative activities
- Games, grounding exercises, or play
- Visual tools, stories, or sensory supports
- Quiet space to reflect or explore feelings at their own pace
My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and always led by the young person’s comfort and readiness.
For Parents & Carers
I’ll keep you involved as appropriate — offering regular check-ins and working collaboratively to support your child’s wellbeing. The aim is to create a stable support system both in and out of sessions.
In-Person Only
All child and adolescent counselling sessions take place in person at my practice in Croydon. The space is quiet, welcoming, and set up with younger clients in mind.
